When considering replacing your roof system, it is a good idea to give

consideration to TPO roof membranes as a potential solution. The term TPO

stands for Thermoplastic Polyolefin. TPO is actually in a broad family of

rubber roofing materials and is a blend of polypropylene and ethylene-

propylene rubber. This type of roofing often comes in gray or white on top,

which can help to reflect the sun’s light and stop heat buildup within the

building. This membrane resists corrosion and breaks down upon contact with

numerous materials. It also doesn’t promote mildew or algae growth and

doesn’t require pressure washing.

This is one of the multiple types of roofing we are offering, and we are

not limited to it, if you don’t see in our list the type of roof you are interested

in, please give us a call to discuss it.

Torch Down

Torch down roofing is so named because it requires an open-flame

propane torch. In this installation method, sheets of modified bitumen are

rolled out onto the roof, and a roofing professional uses a hand-held propane

torch to heat the material and adhere it to the surface. Once the layers reach

the right temperature, seams are melted together to create a waterproof seal.

There are many advantages to torch down roofing. The first job of any roof

system is to keep water out of the building, and torch down roofing has

excellent water-resistant properties. This type of roofing is designed for all

climates, expanding under heat and contracting under cold conditions without

melting or cracking as other materials might. It’s this ability that gives torch

down roofs their long lifespan.

EPDM

EPDM (short for ethylene propylene diene monomer) is a true rubber.

The durable material resembles an inner tube, but it's engineered to resist

damage from sunlight and it's highly resistant to scuffs and tears. EPDM is

available in both black and white and it comes in a variety of widths and

thicknesses, it can be mechanically anchored with fasteners, ballasted with

stone, or glued. As far as utility savings are concerned, this type of

membrane roofing keeps out the sun’s heat reducing air conditioning costs

and also can retain heat to lower heating bills.
